We have decided to drive the entire distance of US Route 6 from Coast to Coast. Due to various constraints (i.e. lack of money, lack of vacation time, leaving pets behind, etc.) we have decided to split the trip in two. Hence the name of my book Splitting the 6.
First we will head west. This is in no way to say that one way is better than the other. It is solely because I want to head to the east coast during the fall when the leaves are changing.
The whole purpose of this trip is to see America. Not the big cities or the Interstates but small town America with its small two lane highways and small businesses.
Growing up in a small town just a mile from US 6, I feel a connection to the road. I want meet people and see places that share that connection with me.
